Cornus officinalis Drying Process for Fruit and Vegetable Dryers

Cornus officinalis is grown in Zhejiang, Anhui, Henan, Shaanxi, Shandong, and Sichuan. From seedling raising and transplanting to flowering and fruiting, fruiting can be seen in eight years if the soil, water, and fertilizer conditions are good; otherwise, it takes about 15 years. Cornus officinalis grown in sunny areas generally mature in late September, while those planted in courtyards or shaded areas mature in late September to early October. Most fruits are harvested when they turn from green to red. During harvesting, be careful not to damage the branches and buds to avoid affecting the next year's yield.

Cornus officinalis Drying Process

After picking the cornus officinalis, first remove the leaves and impurities, then rinse thoroughly, boil in boiling water for 10 minutes, remove, and cool in cold water. Remove the core and drain thoroughly before drying in a drying room.

The drying temperature should be set at 55°C. The first stage is 2 hours of hot air at 40°C. The second stage is 12 hours at 55°C, until the moisture content reaches approximately 13%.
